About Us

Background

Education is considered a fundamental human right and access to education is essential for individuals to reach their full potential and participate fully in society. Unite Theater for Social Action (UTSA) is a non-governmental and voluntary organization that works to promote access to education for underprivileged children and women, raising awareness about the importance of education and working to improve the socio-economic status of marginalized groups and various social issues. UTSA started a child education program under the "REHECDU for the Child and Women" program in 2003 to provide access to education for underprivileged children in urban areas. One of the initiatives taken by the organization was to work with the Chittagong City Corporation to establish Anonto Primary School in the Pahartoli area. The school is now running inside the Akbarshah Housing Society and provides educational opportunities to children who may otherwise not have access to them. The program aims to promote the education and socio-economic development of underprivileged children in the area. Anonto Primary School provides education, health, cultural, rights and skill development opportunities for children from underprivileged and marginalized communities. The school offers a primary education program for students up to class III and also conducts various awareness programs. The school is mainly supported by private donations, donations from the executive and general council members of UTSA, and the support of various socio-cultural organizations.

Personal and institutional initiatives are crucial in working towards a brighter future for underprivileged and marginalized students. Some ways that individuals and organizations can take initiative include:

-Donating money or resources to support the school -Volunteering time as a mentor, tutor, or teacher

-Advocating for policies and programs that provide more resources and support for underprivileged and marginalized students

-Working with local government and community leaders to secure funding and resources for the school

-Partnering with other organizations to provide additional services and support for students, such as health care and nutrition programs.

Anonto Primary School plays an important role in providing good education, cultural practice and healthy mental development for students from underprivileged and marginalized communities. Even with the support of donors, the school does not have a permanent solution, and it is important for members of the community with the means to do so to come forward and support the school to ensure that these children have access to education. Education is a basic human right and steps must be taken to ensure that children from all backgrounds have access to it.
